This isn't stuff I mess with in windows often, so I am not sure if there's an easier way or faster way to do this, but this was an annoying dumb problem and it really did seem to fix it for me with zero side effects. Make a new file named gmrevert.blb, do the same exact thing, make the file empty or put whatever inside it, change all the settings to the same thing so nothing can edit or delete it.īoth files should look like this in the security tab That file is done now and can not be edited, renamed or deleted without restoring permissions. Now you should have the one left, the administrator one, edit this one, goto deny, enable all of these.

In this screen I deleted the 2 principals that were not the administrator principal. Right click the file, properties, security, advancedĬlick Disable Inheritance, then choose the first option goto \Users\Admin\AppData\Local\AMD\CN, open gmdb.blb with notpad delete everything in the file, i just put a single "0" in the doc and saved it, and closed it. Restart your computer, open task and force close all the amd software. You are going to fully lockdown gmdb.blb and a second file the software seems to make as a temp file in the same directory that is not always there named gmrevert.blb

The fix I figured out that so far after about a day of testing, forcing the software closed, reopening, opening and closing several games, several restarts is fairly simple that involved no reinstalling of anything. The same problem will happen again eventually. The new problem is the software remakes this file as soon as you open the program for any reason. So we have gotten this far, that file does indeed seem to be the source of the problem, you delete it, problem is fixed.

I am not 100% sure but I think this file saves some settings in the software for specific games, I use global settings. This file is located in C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\AMD\CN The closest thing i could find to a fix was deleting this file "gmdb.blb" Uninstall/reinstall no matter the method did not fix this problem, ddu uninstall/registry changes, nothing, this is a problem with the AMD software (this is a problem i see going back years for MANY users) What was happening for me was the link on the right click menu when you right click the desktop for Adrenalin Software would suddenly be missing and Adrenalin Software would not open from other areas such as the exe itself, also this would cause a slight hang in some windows functions, restarting usually fixed this problem. I can not speak for everyone's issue with this problem but this worked for me and I did not find this fix anywhere, only similar half fixes.
